Exercise 2: What I Learned at Bracken

It is hard to choose something “new” that I learned in the presentation given to the class last Thursday at Bracken Library. The main reason for this is that I have been to that same presentation at least 5 times throughout my college career and that was my second time hearing it this academic year. Needless to say, I have more than one copy of handouts we received. This does not mean that I don’t benefit from the presentations at all. Each time I hear the presentation I get a better understanding of how to use the resources available to me. So, the one thing that I learned that most sticks out in my mind is the new feature on CardCat which allows students to text themselves a call number for a book. For my project, this will help me to efficiently find my sources in the library. What will most help is the large online database of scholarly journals and articles which are often hard to find otherwise.
